TEN WAYS TO DE-STRESS DURING JEE-PREP – AN IITIAN’S TAKE

bELIEVE IN YOURSELWhen time to mould career comes, everyone becomes serious. For most of us time to mold career means intermediate in which students prepare for entrance exams of different career options. Lakhs of students try for it every year but only about 5% students crack it. But why this much low proportion of ‘Crackers’ is there? One well known reason behind this is stress on the students these days. Here, I am talking about mental one not ‘physics’ one. Here are 10 ways to de-stress –

Music makes life simple. Music makes you forget the reality around you. I think, soothing music makes great effect in de-stressing. One thing more. Music like heart-breaking songs can make adverse effect also. But anyway someone has said that “Music is that weapon which hits the heart but doesn’t give pain.”

Surrounding Atmosphere matters. The surroundings in which we study, live that also has an effect on adding to to our stress. If surrounding atmosphere is serious all the time it can create stress. So try to keep surroundings happy, clean and neat, it will surely help you.

Morning or evening walk to park. The walking at time of sunrise or sunset can help you to de-stress. If possible go alone for walking, you will feel that you are alive apart from this running routine. Just enjoy surrounding without any thinking.

Do more of what makes you happy. I am talking about things which gives you immense happiness like hobbies. Happiness is main key to de-stress.

Stay positive every time. I have observed many times that if student get less marks in weekly exams, they face frustration that they will not able to crack JEE. But that should not affect because weekly exams are for reviewing your preparation not for predicting your future. So don’t allow frustration to take over you.

Study with your maximum potential. Studying for continuously for long hours doesn’t mean that you are studying very well. But effective study of even 5 hours can beat it. Do study from bottom of your heart not under pressure. Increase your effective time and make use of brain at your best.

Find your prime time. Everyone has one specific time in a day during which he/she can study very well. Try to study difficult topics in that time. It may reduce your fear about that topics.

Exercise everyday. As we all know exercise helps to get rid of stress and makes fit physical and mentally. Give at least 20 minutes a day for it.

Limited use of social media. This is one of major cause to create stress these days. Try not to use social media or if you use, use it very limited. It wastes time and causes stress also.

Listen to motivational things. This can make us aware of our dreams, aims and tell us to try hard for it. This motivation takes you away from stress and makes you to work.
