“JEE IS NOT THAT TOUGH” – SAYS AN IITIAN
I am a student pursuing B.Tech from one of the premier colleges in India, the IIT. I have also gone through the same phase in which most of you reading my blog are in. I am not going to write long so don’t worry, I know every minute of yours is very important.
Mark my words, clearing JEE is not that tough, it is just the hype created that puts you in lot of pressure and leads to failure many a times. You just need to put in SINCERE HARD WORK and DEDICATION.
There are simple tricks which were given to me by my teachers when I was preparing for JEE which I would like to share with you all.
Some of the tips include:
- Don’t study for too long continuously. This isn’t to be misunderstood with no studying or less studying. Study for about 80-90 minutes and then go for a 5 min break. After 3-4 hours of effective studying go for a 30 min break.

- Try to study in the morning hours rather than late night. Your exam would be in the morning only so you should be in a habit of getting up early. Do take a proper 7 hour sleep.
- Go for a morning walk and exercise daily just for half an hour. Excess of exercise will cause fatigue and no exercise will cause lethargy. So be careful about the time for which you exercise.

- Drink a lot of water and eat a lot of fruits. Avoid junk food and spicy food, they lead to laziness.

- Preferably eat a small chocolate, drink some milk in your break time ( instead of tea and coffee).

- Do deep breathing whenever you feel tensed. This tactic may help you even when you are taking your exam.

Talk less and keep focus on yourself only. Don’t discuss about preparation level with your friends. This may seem to you as being selfish but trust me if you find yourself lagging behind you will have a lot of tension and this will lead to more wastage of time and you will keep on lagging behind.

- Don’t solve the doubts given to you by your friend. Just keep them aside. Again you need to be a little selfish. Supposedly if the doubt is from your strong topic and you are not able to solve it, you will feel that none of your topic is strong and you may end up overdoing certain topics and leave certain important topics, none of which is beneficial in JEE preparation.

- Prepare your schedule day-wise. Don’t plan for a week or a month but make sure that your day-wise task is completed before you go to sleep.

- Start marking difficult questions, questions involving some tricks and have their solutions written separately. This will help you in revision. Try and complete your course by January because in February you will be basically focusing on your boards.

I hope this helps and all the best for your future.
