IIT BOMBAY IS RANKED 29TH IN TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION BRICS & EMERGING ECONOMICS RANKINGSngs
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, has been ranked 29th in the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economics Ranking- a jump of 8 ranks since last year’s 37.
The various parameters considered for the ranking include reputation of university with employers (weighted at 30 per cent), alumni outcome (20 per cent), employer partnerships (25 per cent), employer presence on campus (15 per cent) and graduate employment rate (10 per cent).
“It is good news for India that 16 of its institutes featured in this year’s list of the best universities in the BRICS nations and emerging economies. However, India will have to work harder to compete with other developing nations, such as Russia which has a higher proportion of institutions in the upper echelons of the table. India is the only BRICS nation without a university in the top ten,” said Phil Baty, Times Higher Education World University Rankings editor.
