How can I manage Boards while preparing for JEE

Practice and hard work is the only way of getting good ranks. Are you juggling between JEE Main and Board exams? Usually board exams start in the month of March while JEE starts in the month of April, and hence, planning the JEE as well as Board Preparation accordingly is extremely important. Given below are some tips that must be kept in mind before starting up. Although Practice and hard work is extremely important, there are other factors that have to be taken into consideration:

 Avoid all distractions such as social media like Facebook and TV

Avoid logging on to Facebook or sitting glued in front of the TV. Relaxation is extremely essential between hectic hours of study. Indulge in some physical games or go out for a stroll. Taking a quicknap or talk to friends/family about interesting things. When you freshen up your mind, your batteries would surely be recharged.

 Complete your Board Syllabus till Mid-September

You shouldn’t wait for your teacher for completing the syllabus. From the month of October, AITS start and simultaneously, the board preparation would start too. If the syllabus hasn’t been completed before hand, lot of time would go into tests rather than focusing on JEE.

 Don’t miss out on FIITJEE

If you lag in FIITJEE, catching up would become extremely difficult. This might look bit contradictory but managing FIITJEE and NCERT together is definitely not a difficult task. Keep a proper timetable in which you have mentioned when to concentrate on JEE and when to concentrate on Boards. A schedule should be planned based on the routine.

 Concentrate on JEE Only after September

After the NCERT is completed, you would have to concentrate only on JEE from the September. A time-table must be made in which the syllabus of 11th and 12th can be studied simultaneously. For instance, 3 hours must be given to 11th and 3 hours must be given to 12th. Try solving challenging problems and papers of 11th. This would make you a master over those topics in which you are comfortable. This would also highlight your weak points in the preparation.

 Manage January well

Starting January, the pre-boards would start. 2-3 hours must be given to Boards 15 days before the exam. This would give you great scores in Pre-Boards and sufficient time would be allowed for JEE preparation. In the remaining hours, focus on GMP and other questions. Revise Maths, Chemistry or Physics daily for ensuring that you don’t lose connection.
