With every second passing by, we are proceeding towards April 3, 2016, the day on which lakhs of students of India will take the first step of their ladder to success and their dreams of graduating from prestigious institutes such as IITs and NITs. This time, Joint Entrance Examination (Main), first stage of the two-tier admission procedure, is
scheduled on April 3, 2016.
CBSE released admission notice regarding JEE(Main) 2016 on November 10, 2015. With the release of information bulletin, the online application process for JEE(Main) 2016 has started from November 25, 2015. This time, apart from the offline version of JEE(Mains) on April 3, 2016 (Sunday), for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), candidates can also go for
the online version of it. Online version of JEE (Mains) will be conducted on April 9, 2016 (Saturday) and April 10, 2016 (Sunday). The offline version of Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be conducted in only one shift i.e from 9:30-12:30 hours (IST). Online version of Paper 1 will be conducted in two shifts i.e from 9:30-12:30 hours and from 14:00-17:00 hours. However, paper 2 (BArch/B.Planning) will only be conducted offline on April 3,2016 from 14:00-17:00 hours. The last date of applying for JEE(Mains) 2016 is 31st December 2015.
Apart from this, the most important question was the continuation of normalisation process for 2016. So the verdict has come, CBSE has decided for continuing this process for 2016. The same rule (60% weightage of JEE (Main) score and 40% weightage of boards) would be followed for declaration of All India Ranks of JEE(Main), based upon
which admission in various NITs/IIITs/CFTIs will be offered. One major change this year this process saw is the increase in the number of students who would be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced) 2016. Now, 2 lakh students would take JEE(Advanced) 2016,unlike 2015,where only 1.5 lakh were allowed.
Once the CBSE declares a candidate eligible for JEE(Advanced), he/she can apply for it. JEE (Advanced) will be conducted on May 22, 2016. Paper 1 and paper 2 are scheduled from 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00
hours respectively on the same date.
Another important announcement which drew everyone’s attention was related to eligibility criteria. Students who have joined NITs/IIITs/CFTIs or those who accepted the seat through JoSAA (except in IITs or ISM) are eligible for taking JEE (Advanced).
So, gear up aspirants, the D-day is approaching. Give your best shot this time!
