5 Things You Need To Know About JEE Advanced 2016

1. The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2016 will be conducted by the 7 zonal IITs. The performance of a candidate in this exam will determine his admission to all the IITs and the ISM.

2. The exam consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II, each of 3 hours duration.

Date: Sunday, May 22

Time: Paper I – 9 am to 12 noon

Paper II – 2 pm to 5 pm

Both the papers are compulsory.

Each question paper will consist of three separate section viz. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

3. The top 2 lakh candidates (including all categories) who qualify in the Paper 1 of JEE Main 2016 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

4. Candidates must register online for appearing in JEE (Advanced) at www.jeeadv.ac.in. Online registration will begin on Friday, April 29, 2016 and close on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.

5. These are the cities where JEE Advanced will be held.

JEE Advanced 2016 Exam Centres

The exam centres are usually some selected zone-wise centres where the examination is scheduled to be conducted which is in India and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Following is a list of the chosen seven zones:

  •  IIT Bombay Zone
  • IIT Delhi Zone
  • IIT Guwahati Zone
  • IIT Kanpur Zone
  • IIT Kharagpur Zone
  • IIT Madras Zone
  • IIT Roorkee Zone

Those of you who are appearing for the examination will have to choose any three cities/towns from a zone as per choice while filling in the application form.
